China-aid Police-Vehicle Project to Egypt Completed
On April 29th 2011, witnessed by senior officials from the Ministry of International Cooperation of Egypt and the Chinese Embassy in Cairo, Mr. Ma Jianchun, Commercial Minister-Counselor of China to Egypt, and General Magdy El-Gohary, Head of Police Supplies of the Ministry of Interior of Egypt, officially signed the certificate of transfer and acceptance for the 700 police vehicles provided by China as aid, signifying completion of this China-aid project.
This aid package is by far the largest single aid project in kind provided by China to Egypt, consisting of 400 4WDs of Chery, 150 cars and 150 mini-buses of Brilliance. Both Chery and Brilliance are indigenous Chinese auto companies, and all the 700 vehicles are of their respective proprietary brands (TIGGO, SPLENDOR and HAISE). These vehicles are already in active service in the Egyptian police force throughout the country, helping to restore and maintain safety and social order.
