To further promote Egyptian capacity building and cultural exchanges between China and Egypt, the
Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China will continue to fund qualified applicants from Egypt
to pursue master or doctoral degree in China in 2018. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.
1. Program Type
The programs in 2018 consist of two types: one is the Direct Enrollment Program of Chinese universities,
including 38 programs from 33 universities; and another is the Special Planned Program recruited through China
Scholarship Council, including 322 programs from 26 universities.
Applicants can only choose one from the Direct Enrollment Program and the Special Planned Program.
Applicants who choose the Direct Enrollment Program may select 1 major in 1 university from the optional 33
universities; while applicants who choose the Special Planned Program may select 1 major from no more than
3 universities from the optional 26 universities. The best applicants will be admitted.
The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China will provide MOFCOM Scholarships to
admitted applicants to cover tuition fees, living expenses and international travel expenses (see the Program
Introductions).
2. Application Procedure
All applicants should read the Program Introduction carefully (The Program Introduction for Direct Enrollment
Programs will be published on http://35219.newnetwebnt01.eastftp.net/EN/class/view?id=93, while the
Program Introduction and University List for Special Planned Program are attached below), prepare the application
materials in strict accordance with the requirements in the Program Introduction, finish the online application or fill
in the university application form, and complete the "Chinese Government Scholarships" application procedure (see
the Program Introductions or visit http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) before April 30th, 2018.
The hard copy and scanned copy of all the application materials should be submitted to the Economic and
Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cairo before April 30th,
2018, too. They will be responsible for evaluating applicants, arranging interviews, and issuing the recommendation
letter for qualified applicants after the interview to support other follow-up procedures.
For those apply for the Master program in Public Administration and the Doctoral program in Theoretical
Economics of the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development of Peking University (one of the
Direct Enrollment Program), please finish all the procedures and submit all application materials to our office
before April 12th and attend the separate interview on April 19th.
3．Admission Results
The admission results will be sent directly to the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office in Cairo,
we will notify the admitted applicants as soon as we receive their Admission Notice. The results are expected to
be released during July to Mid-August.
